What is Rentennials and how does it work?

Rentennials is the simplest way to rent a vehicle, whether for vacations or work. We offer a wide range of vehicles in different countries and cities, from both private owners and small rental car businesses, aiming to be the most transparent and secure platform in the market! No surprises or hidden costs. We want your experience to be amazing! We recommend downloading our app from Google Play or the Apple Store, registering, and immediately accessing a complete catalog of vehicles according to the area you have selected.

What requirements do I need to rent a vehicle?

To rent a vehicle, you must be over 25 years old, have a valid driver’s license, and have a credit card where we will block an amount, according to each vehicle, as a security deposit for the duration of the rental.

How do we verify your identity?

We use Stripe for identity document verification. Stripe collects images of identity documents, facial images, identification numbers, and addresses, as well as advanced fraud signals and information about the devices connecting to its services. Stripe shares this information with us and also uses this information to operate and improve the services it offers, including fraud detection. https://stripe.com/docs/identity/explaining-identity

How does the payment system work?

When you submit a rental request, the host must approve it within a maximum of 24 hours. Once approved, you will be able to book the vehicle by enabling the payment option. Payment must be made through our platform using a credit or debit card. The payment gateway may vary by country (for example, MercadoPago or Stripe). The remaining amount will be paid upon receiving the vehicle.

What are the cancellation policies?

You can cancel your Rentennial up to 48 hours before your trip and the total amount paid for the reservation will be refunded. After that period, the renter will not be able to claim that amount, which will be used in part as compensation to the host.

Can a companion drive my rented vehicle?

The main driver must be the person who registers, presents their driver’s license, and validates their identity on our platform. An additional driver can be added at no extra charge during check-in, who will be authorized to drive. (The additional driver must be over 25 years old and have a valid driver’s license.)

What happens if I have an accident or receive fines?

In case of accidents, we recommend contacting the Rentennials support team at our WhatsApp +5492616842392 or email consultas@rentennials.app, as well as notifying the Host so we can advise you on how to proceed. Payment of any fines will be the responsibility of the renter, should they occur, and will be notified once received.

How and where can I receive my rented vehicle?

During the rental request process, the system will ask if you want to receive the vehicle at a city location (free of charge) or at the airport (with a charge). The vehicle must be delivered by the host clean and with a full tank, and you must return it in the same condition. In all cases, you can ask us or the owners about the delivery costs if the location is far from where the vehicle is located.

Insurance policy and safety measures

While the safety of the vehicles is the responsibility of the hosts, Rentennials only accepts vehicles that are in good condition and relatively new. If a vehicle is reported to be in poor condition, it will be immediately removed from our platform. Rentennials requires that hosts maintain valid insurance for “driverless rentals,” allowing them to engage in this activity. It is the host’s responsibility to keep their insurance up to date and to provide a copy of the insurance policy to the customer when the vehicle is delivered.

How do I check-in?

At the moment, Check-in can only be done through our app! Download it and register using the same email (Gmail/Facebook) you used to make the reservation. Download from PlayStore or AppStore.

Go to: My Trips ➤ Confirmed ➤ View reservation details ➤ Check in. Click here to see a guide: You must complete all the steps for the owner to deliver the vehicle to you.

  1. Data: These are the details of the person who will drive the vehicle.
  2. Identity validation: Don’t forget to give access to your smartphone’s camera. Follow the instructions so we can validate you (it must be the driver).
  3. Additional driver: You can add an additional driver free of charge (must be over 25 years old).
  4. Security deposit: (Enabled once identity is verified and 48 hours before the rental starts). We will make a reservation on a credit card for an amount in dollars for the duration of the rental, and it will be returned at the end of it, (Returns can take up to 10 days depending on the bank).
  5. Contract signing: Sign the contract digitally to start the rental! (You will receive a code by email, you can change the email or check the spam box if you do not receive it).

What is the security deposit? When is it returned?

The security deposit is a sum of money held on a credit/debit card for the duration of the rental period. This deposit is reserved to cover any potential damages that might occur to the vehicle in the event of an accident.

Once the rental period has ended and no damages have been reported, the deposit will be fully refunded to the same card. Please note that refunds may take up to 10 days to process.

What happens if I exceed the allowed kilometers/milles?

Each vehicle owner can set the number of kilometers or miles allowed per day. Some offer unlimited mileage, while others set limits. For vehicles with limits, the minimum can be 300 km per day, which accumulates over the rental period. For example, a 2-day rental would give you a total allowance of 600 km. Exceeding this allowance incurs additional charges: half a day’s rental cost for every 150 km over the limit. For instance, if you rent for 2 days and drive 700 km, you would pay for an extra half day; at 800 km, you would pay for a full additional day, and so on for every additional 150 km.

Typically, it is rare for renters to exceed these limits unless they are undertaking extensive trips to other provinces or states.
