What is Rentennials and how does it work?

Rentennials is the leading carsharing platform in Latin America. We are transforming the way vehicles are rented by offering a completely different experience compared to traditional rental companies, which are often characterized by unclear contracts, hidden fees, high prices, and impersonal service.
At Rentennials, we fight against all that so you can enjoy your trip the way you deserve. We stand out for our transparency, personalized attention, fair prices, and a 100% digital and simple process, always prioritizing the safety of our users.
We want you to enjoy true freedom to move however you want, with a modern and hassle-free rental experience.
Join the Rentennials revolution and discover how we’re changing mobility around the world.
We recommend downloading our app from Google Play or the Apple Store, registering, and immediately accessing a complete catalog of vehicles according to the area you have selected.

How do I book a vehicle?

Reservations must be made through our website or app.
The steps are:
1. Filter your search by city, dates, and time to find the perfect vehicle.
2. Select and send a request!
3. Before proceeding, we’ll ask you to register by providing some personal information.
4. Once your request is sent, the host must accept it so you can pay a reservation fee. (You can send multiple requests to different vehicles; some may offer instant booking.)
5. With the payment, you secure your vehicle reservation. The remaining amount will be paid directly to the host when you receive the vehicle.
6. Don’t forget to complete the check-in process ahead of time before pickup!

Is it safe?

Absolutely! At Rentennials, we prioritize the safety of our users above all else. We carefully verify the identity of both hosts and renters, as well as their vehicles. Additionally, all vehicles include insurance coverage to protect you during your trip. Our payment system is 100% secure and encrypted to ensure your peace of mind in every transaction.

Our hosts are committed to providing an excellent experience because you can rate them at the end of the rental! If a host doesn’t show up, doesn’t respond, cancels, or anything else, we are always here to provide the best solution. We work hard to be the best rental platform in the world. What requirements do I need to rent a vehicle?

• Be at least 25 years old.

• Have a valid physical driver’s license.

• Have a bank-issued credit card where we will hold a security deposit, based on the vehicle, as a guarantee for the rental duration.

How does the payment system work?

When you submit a rental request, the host must approve it within a maximum of 24 hours. Once approved, you will be able to book the vehicle by enabling the payment option. Payment must be made through our platform using a credit or debit card. The payment gateway may vary by country (for example, MercadoPago or Stripe). The remaining amount will be paid upon receiving the vehicle.

What are the cancellation policies?

You can cancel your Rentennial up to 48 hours before your trip and the total amount paid for the reservation will be refunded. After that period, the renter will not be able to claim that amount, which will be used in part as compensation to the host.

Can a companion drive my rented vehicle?

The main driver must be the person who registers, presents their driver’s license, and validates their identity on our platform. An additional driver can be added at no extra charge during check-in, who will be authorized to drive. (The additional driver must be over 25 years old and have a valid driver’s license.)

What happens if I have an accident or receive fines?

In case of an accident, we recommend contacting the Rentennials support team to assist you! WhatsApp: +5492617014716. You should also notify the owner and/or the insurance provider.

All vehicles are insured. In some cases, if the damage is minor, the owner and the renter can agree on a price without using the security deposit. In other cases, when the damage is more significant, the security deposit will be used to involve the insurance.

The payment of fines is the renter’s responsibility and must be paid in full. Since the fine system is not always immediate, if the owner or rental company informs us of a fine related to the rental period, even if this notification comes after the rental has ended, the renter will still be responsible for paying it.

How and where can I receive my rented vehicle?

During the request process, the system will ask if you want to receive the vehicle at a specific point in the city (free of charge) or at the airport (with or without a fee). If you prefer to receive it at a different location, you can arrange this directly with the host. You can ask them before making the reservation through the internal chat on our platform or contact us via WhatsApp at +5492617014716.

Insurance policy and safety measures

While the safety of the vehicles is the responsibility of the hosts, Rentennials only accepts vehicles that are in good condition and relatively new. If a vehicle is reported to be in poor condition, it will be immediately removed from our platform. Rentennials requires that hosts maintain valid insurance for “driverless rentals,” allowing them to engage in this activity. It is the host’s responsibility to keep their insurance up to date and to provide a copy of the insurance policy to the customer when the vehicle is delivered.

How do I check-in?

At the moment, Check-in can only be done through our app! Download it and register using the same email (Gmail/Facebook) you used to make the reservation. Download from PlayStore or AppStore.

Go to: Mis viajes ➤ Confirmados ➤ Ver detalle de la reserva ➤ Check-in. Click here to see a guide: You must complete all the steps for the owner to deliver the vehicle to you.

You must complete all the steps for the owner to deliver the vehicle to you:
1. Driver’s information (Datos del conductor): This is the information of the person who will be driving the vehicle.
2. Driver’s license (Licencia de conducir): You must upload photos of a physical, valid driver’s license. Digital licenses are not accepted.
3. Identity validation (Verifica la identidad del conductor): Don’t forget to grant access to your smartphone’s camera. Follow the instructions to complete the validation (it must be the driver).
4. Additional driver (Conductor adicional): You can add an additional driver at no extra cost (must be over 25 years old). (Optional)
5. Security deposit (Depósito en garantía): (Available once the identity is verified and 48 hours before the rental begins.) We will hold a reservation on a credit card for a specific amount in USD for the rental period. This amount will be released at the end of the rental. Please note that the amount is only held on the card’s limit and not charged. (Refunds may take up to 10 days depending on the bank.)
6. Contract signature (Contrato de alquiler): Sign the digital contract to start the rental! (You will receive a code by email. If you don’t receive it, you can change your email or check your spam folder).

What is the security deposit? When is it returned?

The security deposit is a sum of money that will be held on a credit card (debit and prepaid cards are not accepted) during the rental period. This amount will be used to cover any potential damage to the vehicle in the event of an incident.

Once the rental period has ended, and in the absence of any reported incidents, the deposit will be fully refunded to the same credit card used. Refunds may take up to 10 days.

Important! The amount is not charged; it is only held against the card’s credit limit and does not generate any fees, taxes, or additional costs.

What happens if I exceed the allowed kilometers/milles?

Each vehicle owner can set the number of kilometers or miles allowed per day. Some offer unlimited mileage, while others set limits. For vehicles with limits, the minimum can be 300 km per day, which accumulates over the rental period. For example, a 2-day rental would give you a total allowance of 600 km. Exceeding this allowance incurs additional charges: half a day’s rental cost for every 150 km over the limit. For instance, if you rent for 2 days and drive 700 km, you would pay for an extra half day; at 800 km, you would pay for a full additional day, and so on for every additional 150 km.

Typically, it is rare for renters to exceed these limits unless they are undertaking extensive trips to other provinces or states.
