You will find out the answer when you decide to visit <\/span><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.turismo.jujuy.gob.ar\/item\/purmamarca\/\">Purmamarca<\/a><\/strong><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>.<\/strong><\/span> Founded by the Spanish at the end of the 19th century, Purmamarca is one of the most beautiful towns in the world.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">16th century, its dirt streets, adobe houses and its fair are a trip back in time, all framed by the beautiful Cerro de los Siete Colores. The most famous are the paintings of the arquebusier angels in the Church of San Francisco de Padua, dating back to the 17th century. A must-see is the trail to the Quebrada de las Se\u00f1oritas. It is a low-difficulty hike to enjoy some very particular geological formations.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Just 20 km from Purmamarca, the town of <\/span><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/maps.app.goo.gl\/B3HcM1EbrzJkqeKZA\">Maimar\u00e1<\/a><\/strong><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is distinguished by its color palette on the hill known as the Painter&#8217;s Palette. Again, the hills display a variety of surprising tones. Getting there is very easy: with a 3-hour walk to a viewpoint.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In both towns there are simple and inexpensive accommodations, ideal if you are looking to reduce costs on your trip.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Iruya, a hidden town in Salta<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is curious, but a town in Salta appears on this route. This is because Iruya is located very close to the border with Jujuy, although it belongs to the neighboring province. Famous for its church, its architecture and for being nestled between the hills, the magic of the town can be appreciated from the viewpoint, where everything ends up being understood: the walls, the rivers and a small town in an unexpected place.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">From <\/span><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/visitsalta.ar\/post\/iruya\">Iruya<\/a><\/strong><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>,<\/strong><\/span> there are several treks to do, such as the one that leads to the town of San Isidro (8 km there and the same back). Another option is to take a medium-difficulty trail to the C\u00f3ndor viewpoint.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Spending a night in Iruya is worth it. Of course, the accommodations are simple, but very comfortable.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0How to get to Iruya from Humahuaca<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The peculiarity of Iruya is that it can only be accessed from Humahuaca. Traveling 26 kilometers north of the city, you have to take Provincial Route 13 and continue along a dirt road. You have to go slowly, respecting the distances and enjoying the landscape.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Here is the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/maps.app.goo.gl\/thE1akBU1vnFkgKBA\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>map to get to Iruy<\/strong><\/span>a<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.
